Opening night in 1903 of Rigoletto at the Metropolitan Opera was the American debut of a young Italian singer...Enrico Caruso as the 'Duke'. Caruso was 30 years old at that time.  Another famous singer, Antonio Scotti played the 'Hunchback'.
