Beautiful Women on cigar box labels was the predominant theme used by the early cigar makers. Beautiful women without clothes was even more popular with the primarily male oriented market of the time. Public nudity was not accepted nor tolerated around the turn of the Century and images of this type were considered an art form. In fact this concept was the precursor for today's centerfolds. OK, OK, maybe these images are a little tame by today's standards but in 1900, this was hot! "Bachelor of Arts" is a wonderful scarce image combining exquisite art and the most popular subject matter ever reproduced (yesterday and today) - the female form. |
