Brothers Samuel F. B. Morse & Sidney Edwards Morse.  Samuel the more famous of the two brothers started his career as an artist after graduating from Yale in 1910.  In 1836 he ran for Mayor of New York on the Native-American ticket.  Samuel along with his brother invented "lightening wires" and an electronic alphabet (better known as "Morse Code"). A line was constructed between Baltimore and Washington and on May 24, 1844 the first message sent was...
"What hath God wrought?"
Samuel was also a founder of Vassar College.
